Sustainability starts at the farm…

The Initiative we represent together with our team at Dibella in Bangalore India is unique. Our team already have the manufacturing facilities and expertise, and oversees all on-the-ground implementations of the sustainable development goals with specific target numbers. Our team in Bangalore engage with local NGOS for raising awareness and for training the workers. The Tove Wear brand mission is to generate necessary business required to ensure that the workers are engaged, and that it stays a commercially viable operation. Where necessary, Fair-trade International will support with their learnings/expertise on various initiatives they have implemented in Africa and South America with similar objectives.

Through our partnership, our friends in Bangalore intend to train rural semi-literal women on sewing and other operational skills and provide employment as well as continuous training to upgrade their skills so income levels can increase significantly. There is already a manufacturing infrastructure to produce sustainable apparel that can accommodate up to 500 women, and it can increase as necessary. Working with the Tove Wear brand accelerates the opportunity at Dibella to provide wages that meet basic living needs, and allows for investment in the community for basic infrastructure such as water, education, and health facilities.
